I am so happy to announce that finally, it's happening. This Friday November 21 at noon I will be reopening my etsy shop Whiteradish. The shop will be stocked with an array of cups and mugs. In a few weeks more cups, and some bowls and plates will start filtering into the shop inventory. I will be posting sneek peaks of what will be on sale via Instagram.

paper and cotton

Ann Weber

Ann Weber, all I have to say is WOW! Her sculpture has layers of intrigue. I am amazed at how she uses and elevates commmon found materials of cardboard into colossal artworks. The forms, textures, and size are so alluring, you want to touch them like a ceramic pot or woven basket but dare not. The size and material creates an otherworldly feeling, an electric presence larger than life. Her website has wonderful documentation and a video of her in Rome diving into garbage bins wearing the most amazing coat.

on another note.

dress no.2

Speaking of garments, I have the hardest time finding a basic versitle top that won't break my bank account. However today I came across this pattern on pintrest made by 100 acts of sewing. It is sweet, simple and something that I could wear in the studio or out and about. I'm very hopeful that I might finally have a staple garment for my everyday.

time leap

DPI interview

A few years back I was published in a Chinese art magazine DPI. I posted the article on my facebook not realizing that it was too small to be read. So now its finally here on my blog wall, what a journey. All the ceramics published in the article were made between 2010-2013.

Exciting news, my etsy store will reopen in a matter of weeks. The date has not been set yet but I will post one soon.

road bumps

I want to apologize to all the people whom I told that I would reopen my etsy shop in May or June. Sadly its going to be a little later because my summer job at the University got canceled. As a result I had to move out of my studio at the University by July and find a new place to work. Fortunatly I didn't have to go farther than my basement for a new studio. Unfortunately it is a corner of the basement that needs TLC, but with a little elbow grease and some paint it will be the new studio.

On another note, I just discovered this amazing fashion house ELEY KISHIMOTO. I don't know much about them but they use amazing patten and color. The clothing designs are lovely, What attracts me the most is how comfortable the clothes look, like you could wear them all day and not ever lust to change into a cosy cotton tee.

I sometimes can't believe it but I'm done, I finished grad school! Hurray, hazzzah, hoot hoot and a hip hip! I still have a few weeks left of school but my MFA show and defending orals are over. Here is a little peek at some of the new work I have made and the show. More images will be uploaded shortly. Sadly I need to retake many photos as the lighting was off. Also if you are wondering... yes, I will be selling my work again on my etsy. I am aiming for the beginning of June and I will make a blog post announcement of the official day towards the end of May.
